There is a workshop situated in Taito-ku that creates products with beautiful, seemingly ever-changing cotton-patterned gradation and lifelike textures unique to leather goods. The workshop has developed their own technique, “Sukimo Leather”, that consists of several layers of multicolored dyed leather stamped & pressed on top of one another before applying a suku method (a technique that consists of flattening and thinning out the leather material), while also incorporating traditional leather manufacturing techniques passed down over many years.
