Copperware
Doki
While there are 2 traditional copperware manufacturing techniques – hammering, where the material is formed using a hammer, and casting, where melted copper is poured into a casting mold – the copperware in Taito-ku was manufactured using the hammering technique. Furthermore, special techniques such as bronzing and patination bring about a slightly different beauty in the copperware’s appearance.
Copper products enjoy a thoroughly rooted popularity among everyday items due to their heat resistance, often used for cooking instruments such as kettles and frying pans.
