EVENT Traditional crafts handed down from Edo to Tokyo －Craftsmanship－

We are going to exhibit and demonstrate to introduce visitors to craftsmanship handed down from Edo to Tokyo also culture and lifestyle in Japan on the theme of traditional crafts that were developed in Japanese natural features and history and also used in daily life.
This project is one of the official project of "Japan Expo" that is promoted by the Agency for Cultural Affairs.
"Japan Expo" is a series of exhibitions and events held around the country with the aim of disseminating Japan's beauty and attractiveness to both at home and abroad with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympic Games.

■ Craft making section
Let's learn from craftsmen! What is traditional crafts? You can weave a Sudare tea mat!
Instructor: Mr. Kotaro Tanaka (Slatted Blinds)
Time: ①10: 00 ②13: 30 ③15: 30- / 3 times each day
Duration: approximately 60 minutes
Participation: over 9 years old (each capacity: 15 people)
Material cost: 1,500 yen
Reception: Reception on the day (numbered tickets required)
Numbered ticket distribution: ①②9:00 ③14:00 ... ※ It ends as soon as ticket run out
Distribution ticket distribution place: Japan Gallery, first floor, central hall

We will display the traditional crafts that were made by craftsmen in the venue and they will demonstrate how to make their works.
