Edo warazo are jointed fishing rods made by joining several pieces different pieces of bamboo together to form a single fishing pole. Artisans themselves select and harvest natural bamboo from thickets to use in constructing these fishing instruments and painstakingly craft them using traditional techniques. These fishing rods are not just practical items that are highly functional but also have the refined qualities of handicrafts worthy of display. As might be expected from the natural materials used to craft them, adjustments to the poles need to be made for their usage, adjustments that can only be made with skill and intuition built up over years of work making them.
